Media Hypocrisy and Sarah Palin

What hypocrites the media liberals and Democrat politicians are.  They say that religion is a private matter and emphasize that America has a tradition of the separation of church and state. Yet religion is fair game when they need to go after a conservative.  "Mitt Romney? Is America ready to support a Mormon?"  Well, isn't Nevada Senator Harry Reid a Mormon?  Why is he not attacked for his religious beliefs? Does anyone hear the media asking, “Barack Obama? Is America ready to support someone who, as an impressionable teenager, was mentored by a member of the Communist Party of the USA?” (In an effort to hide his identity, Obama referred to Davis only as “Frank,” in his book, “Dreams From My Father.”)

For the media, it was sufficient for Obama to "pretend to disown" his pastor, Jeremiah Wright.  Apparently we are to believe that Obama slept through 20 years of high-volume, rabble-rousing, inflammatory sermons from Wright.  (Wright’s voice is a bit louder than Clint Eastwood’s.) If Obama can sleep through Wright's sermons, he'll sleep right through that 3 a.m. phone call Hillary Clinton warned about.  Obama apparently doesn't read his church literature, either, or he might have noticed the announcement of the award given by his church to Nation of Islam leader - and infamous Jew-hater - Louis Farrakhan.  (Or perhaps Obama agreed with the honoring of Farrakhan, and has a cabinet position waiting for him. Or maybe he'll be the Ambassador to Palestine after Iran eliminates Israel to give Hamas that new address.)

No, Obama gets a pass, but suddenly, reporters are rushing to Alaska to dig up as much “dirt” as they can find at Governor Palin’s church. They’re probably interviewing every baby-sitter she ever hired, and going through her trash to see if she subscribes to The Limbaugh Letter or buys groceries somewhere other than Whole Foods. If they find a sales receipt from a Wal-Mart it will make the front page of the New York Times.

The more the liberals scream and attack Palin, the more hypocritical they appear.   The more the media helps the liberal cause, the more the public hates the media. If it's important to know that Palin's husband had a drunk driving arrest 24 years ago, why is the media not telling everyone about the drunk driving arrest of Biden's daughter - which happened much more recently?  How about the video of a very drunk Biden singing and dancing?  Will Keith Olberman show that?  How about repeating some of the videotape of Biden insulting Judges Robert Bork, ridiculing Judge Clarence Thomas, and questioning Anita Hill?  Will they show that as often as they showed Dan Quayle misspelling potato?

And, let's see...  Palin is form a small town, became Governor, then went directly to a national ticket.  Wow, no one like that should dare to be Vice-President.  Has the media reminded anyone of Plains Georgia?  You know, the town of fewer than 1,000 where Jimmy Carter hailed from, going from peanut farmer to Governor to a national ticket?  Or Hope, Arkansas, a town of fewer than 10,000, whose most famous resident became Governor and then went right to a national ticket?

A fair number of Governors have been elected President, and none of them had foreign policy experience.  That includes Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Ronald W. Reagan , Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. They all went from no foreign policy experience directly into the Presidency.  So why can't Sarah Palin go from Governor to Vice-President? If foreign policy experience is what makes the difference, then the Vice-President ought to be someone who has been (or is) Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense. Obama’s being the chairman of a foreign policy subcommittee that never holds a meeting just doesn’t cut it. No doubt the Vice-Presidential debates will include Palin being asked a stupid question like, “Who is the current President of Lichtenstein?” – as though the security of the United States depends on that and no one could look up the name if they needed it. Biden won’t know the answer either, and the media won’t ask him. But Palin might…

Yeah, yeah, what if McCain dies the day after he's sworn in?  I'm sure his 96 year-old mother - who looks pretty sprightly to me - enjoys the media predicting how long it will be before her son keels over and ground is broken for his Presidential Library. (And liberals have the nerve to call Joe McCarthy shameless.  Every person McCarthy named as a spy turned out to be a Soviet spy, by the way. Check out the Verona Papers.)  And what if Obama doesn't die the day after he's sworn in?  His foreign policy experience amounts to having briefly met a few European Presidents and then making a speech in Berlin to tens of thousands of adoring socialists.  Big deal.  Sarah Palin gave a speech to about 40 million Americans, and she at least spoke the same language as her audience. I’m sure that between Election Day and Inauguration Day, Palin can have the same meet and greet Obama had – and she won’t promise to burden American with more taxes to make it easier for Europe to compete.

Palin doesn't deserve the vicious attacks she's been getting, but she seems more than capable of defending herself.  If the liberals want a war, they'd better be ready to see campaign ads linking Obama to:

Reverend Jeremiah "God Damn America" Wright
Vicious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan
William Ayers (domestic terrorist, bomber, former fugitive from justice, and unrepentant socialist radical who is working with Obama on a "reparations education program" to give all blacks free college education as payback for slavery)
Bernadine Dohrn, Ayers' wife, also a domestic terrorist and former fugitive from justice (how many of McCain’s friends have been on the FBI’s most wanted list?), member of Weather Underground, socialist, anti-capitalist, and occasional baby-sitter for the Obamas
Frank Marshall Davis, member of the Communist Party of the USA, and Obama's mentor when he was an impressionable teen in Hawaii (referred to only as "Frank" in Obama's book, "Dreams From My Father")
Saul Alinsky, socialist, revolutionary, and author of the 1960s hippie radical riot handbook, "Rules for Radicals," which Michelle Obama quoted twice in her DNC speech ("the world as it is or the world as it should be," from Chapter 2 of Alinsky's book)
and on and on and on...

So keep up the vicious personal attacks, liberals. The conservatives can counter liberal lies and hypocrisy with the truth.

The media certainly wants an Obama win, but once they smell defeat they will throw him under the bus.  A Pulitzer Prize to a reporter is, after all, more important than anything. Hell, even world socialism can be delayed for that.  But as soon as Obama starts slipping in the polls, the tide will turn.  The media hated Nixon, but that didn't stop it from dumping on McGovern in 1972.

Yes, much of the far left crowd will continue to go crazy, but the reporters who later want to be called on by a President McCain at his press conferences will start "playing nice" as soon as they see the public turning against Obama.  They're not going to hurt their own careers just to help Obama - once they see him sinking.  They are opportunists before they are Americans, after all.

Michelle Obama's "Revolutionary" Speech

Michelle Obama's Democrat Convention speech on Monday night was sophomoric and full of cliches.  But it served her husband well because she managed to avoid sounding like the angry and bitter person she has shown during the primaries.  In her heart, though, she's still a revolutionary who wants to see dramatic changes in America... changes middle America won't like but won't be able to stop for four more years.

Michelle Obama can moan about health care all she wants, but wait until Americans discover that her job at the University of Chicago Hospitals has been to encourage poor people without insurance to go to neighborhood clinics rather than set foot in the hospital.  Of course she wants a national health care plan - those darned poor people are causing her hospital-employer to lose money.

Mrs. Obama can also talk about all the sacrifices a young mother has to make, but she lives in a $1.6 million mansion, makes $316,692 per year, has a husband who earns $162,500 per year as a Senator and has taken in at least $4 million dollars in book royalties. She can certainly afford back-to-school clothing for her kids. She can also afford to stay home with them, so stop the whining about those "difficult choices."

Granted, it was no doubt tough to lose her father.  So what?  A lot of women have lost their fathers... but that doesn't qualify their husbands for the Presidency.

And let's cut the "grew up in poverty in a log cabin doing homework by candlelight" crap. If America is such a terrible place that Michelle Obama wasn't proud of it until only recently, how was it that she and her brother were able to go to college?  To me, that sounds like an America that works. If America is so racist and mean, how did she and her brother get to where they are today? A lot of people in this country have far less, and they're not filled with anger and hatred toward America.

For the record, Barack Obama was not a poor kid who grew up in the ghettoes. His "goat-herder" father had a middle-class job in the Kenyan government where he advocated Marxist policies, attended Harvard, and could afford to travel between the United States and Africa - which is more than most Americans can today afford. The young Obama and future Senator lived in Hawaii and Indonesia. (Maybe the airlines have special "poverty fares" that most Americans don't know about?) Obama Jr. attended Harvard and then lectured part-time at the University of Chicago for $69,000 per year. Not bad for part-time work, where he never once wrote a position paper (which is regularly done by aspiring legal eagles; perhaps he didn't want to leave a paper trail.) Then he went into politics where he managed to win by getting his Illinois State Senate primary opponents kicked off the ballot. And he won the US Senate seat by getting the media to release his opponent's sealed divorce papers. (The only time Obama had a decent opponent he lost.)

Let's stop with the "just your average working class family" shtick. It's not true. The Obama's have had a pretty good life, and they've got far more than most Americans who've led far tougher lives.

More important than the family hugs, though, was Obama's quote from her husband that so impressed her, about "the world as it is and the world as it should be."   Surprise: that comes from Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky's book, "Rules for Radicals."  Alinsky was a leftist (some would say communist, but at least a socialist) who influenced many of the 1960s radicals - like Obama's buddies William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.  Alinsky was pretty much required reading for the "overthrow America" crowd.

One need not look far in "Rules for Radicals" to see that Obama has been following Alinsky's "script for a socialist revolution" quite carefully:

"There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families - more than seventy million people - whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don't encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let's not let it happen by default..."

In other words, you can't just come right out and say that you're a socialist, and burning flags will probably work against you.  Instead, shave off your beards, throw away the tie-dyed shirts, and go ahead and put on a business suit to "look like one of them."  Keep reminding Americans of how terrible their lives are, and how everything is going to hell in a handbasket - even if it isn't.  Then, after you're in office, start putting the socialist programs in place.  It will take a while, but you can get there faster by first getting leftists to control the education system and the media.  After that, it's just a matter of time.

Michelle Obama was just shilling for her husband, the wolf in sheep's clothing who will accept the coronation on Thursday night.  No doubt he'll also use words from Saul Alinsky or Frank Marshall Davis, or maybe even Karl Marx.  He doesn't care... he knows the media commentators won't notice and, if they do, they won't point it out.
